Our targeted gentle facial peel is specifically formulated with 5.5% AHAs (Glycolic Acid and Lactic Acid), 0.18% BHA (Salicylic Acid), and 3.0% PHA (Gluconolactone) to help reduce the appearance of pores, boost skin’s radiance, and create visibly softer and smoother skin texture. Balanced with soothing Copper Gluconate to help reduce discomfort, our formula provides a gentle exfoliating peel that can be used daily.

How can a triple acid peel help with wrinkles and other signs of aging?
Our triple acid peel addresses wrinkles and signs of aging by exfoliating the outer layer of the skin, promoting cell turnover, and creating a more receptive surface for serums to be absorbed. In this formula we use alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), and polyhydroxy acids (PHA) which work to dissolve the bonds between dead skin cells, allowing them to be sloughed off more easily. This process helps to improve the texture and tone of the skin, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and fade age spots and hyperpigmentation.
Can a triple acid peel help with acne and acne scarring?
Similar to wrinkles and other signs of aging, our triple acid formula slowly works to even the surface texture of the skin which, over time, can address scarring. The BHAs used in this product are oil-soluble, which means they can penetrate into the pores and dissolve excess sebum (oil) and other impurities that can clog the pores. By unclogging the pores, BHAs help to prevent the formation of blackheads, whiteheads, and acne breakouts.

Will a triple acid peel make my skin peel and purge?
While this product is safe to use on all skin type, different skin types may react differently. This formula contains powerful actives that will increase skin cell turnover which, for some users, may result in purging or slight flaking of the skin. This can be reduced by use of a rich moisturizer or balm, such as our new Ultra Facial Barrier Balm, after application. If you are concerned about the ingredients, we do encourage you to speak with your dermatologist to see if this product is right for you.
How can Kiehls triple acid peel help with dark spots and hyperpigmentation?
Hyperpigmentation, dark spots, or uneven skin tone occurs when there is an overproduction of melanin, the pigment responsible for skin color, in certain areas of the skin. The acids used in our new Clearly Corrective Daily Peel work by breaking down the bonds between dead skin cells and promoting their shedding. This exfoliation process helps to remove the top layer of the skin where excess melanin may be present, revealing fresher, more evenly toned skin underneath. As with all exfoliating products, SPF should always be used during sunlight exposure to reduce additional damage caused by UV rays.
