The Mission of Kiehl's states that we are "to improve in some way the quality of the community... making for better citizens, better firms, and better communities." To that end, we focus our efforts first and foremost on the betterment of our local communities by targeting our philanthropic endeavors on the needs and concerns of their citizens.
Through "Kiehl's Gives," we take a grassroots approach to help local teams focus on three key causes in their communities: the environment, children's well-being, and LGBTQ+ causes. To date, we have partnered with over 50 charities worldwide.
We proudly include every member of the family in our formulation offerings: moms, dads, babies and even dogs. We celebrate families who live and work in our local communities, and to this day you can find their photographs on our Baby Wall—some dating back 40 years!
Our family values are the foundation for our commitment to supporting children’s charities. Our vision is to create safer, more sustainable environments for children through community relations and fundraising efforts.
Kiehl’s proudly supports Feeding America®. Each year, we invite customers around the world to give a gift that gives back. A percent of proceeds from exclusive holiday gift sets are used to provide meals to children facing hunger. Over the past 7 years, in partnership with Feeding America, we have helped provide more than 7 million meals to help the 1 in 4 children facing hunger in the United States.
Food insecurity is a challenge that 54 MILLION people – including 18MM children – are potentially facing due to the devastating Coronavirus pandemic. Now, more than ever, families across the US need your help getting resources to provide meals for their families so they can gather around the holiday table. Let’s provide holiday meal memories this year those families in need. Here are all the ways you can get involved!

Earth Day Network
Kiehl’s proudly supports the Earth Day Network to build the world’s largest environmental movement to drive transformative change for people and the planet. Charitable funds will directly benefit the Great Global Clean Up, in honor of Earth Day across major U.S. cities where volunteers will clean up green spaces, urban landscapes, and waterways. We’re committed to planting thousands of trees in communities where they’re needed most, through Earth Day Network’s tree restoration campaign.
At Kiehl’s, we stand for Healthy Skin for All. We encourage inclusivity and celebrate diversity amongst our customers, community and employees. We believe in embracing who we are as individuals —
regardless of gender, race, religion, or who we choose to love.
Kiehl’s proudly supports The Trevor Project on the fight to defend LGBTQ+ youth and save lives. We donate to various organizations, including The Ali Forney Center, Hetrick-Martin Institute, and The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center, to support housing, healthcare, and education services for New York’s LGBTQ+ young people.
The Trevor Project
Kiehl’s proudly supports our NEWEST national philanthropic partnership with The Trevor Project, the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ young people. The Trevor Project provides support to LGBTQ youth through free and confidential crisis services: its phone lifeline, chat, and text programs. In addition, the organization runs TrevorSpace, the world’s largest safe space social networking site for LGBTQ youth, and operates innovative education, research, and advocacy programs. This year, Kiehl’s has identified two key moments to celebrate inclusivity and support LGBTQ youth: Pride in June and National Suicide Prevention Month and Self-Care Month in September. In addition, Kiehl’s celebrates #SelfCareForAll, our message and commitment to celebrating inclusivity, equality and diversity all year long.
A History of Pride
For the last 18 years, Kiehl’s has honored the vibrancy, diversity and artistry of the LGBTQ+ community, culminating in a joyful celebration during the Pride Parade. Kiehl’s is proud to support and sponsor various Pride marches in NYC, Los Angeles and other top cities.
The Kiehl's Mission
"A worthwhile firm must have a purpose for its ex'stence, Not only the everyday work-a-day purpose to earn a just profit, but beyond that, to improve in some way the quality of the community to which it is committed, Each firm—as should each person—contributes to those around it; and by dint of its day-to-day efforts, the message it thereby imparts is a revelation of the quality standard at which its life's work is conducted.
We here at Kiehl's hope that through the quality of our products, by the manner in which our day-to-day contacts are concerned with truth, justice, and fairness, we can in some way communicate to those who may not have been aware of it that these qual'ties are eternal and renewable every day, making for better citizens, better firms, and better communities."
We are constantly striving to realize this vision and to endeavor at all times to serve our customers, our communities, and one another to the best of our abilities.
