Rated 3 out of 5 by from nothing special I love Kiehls and would recommend their products to everyone. However, I don't know why they replaced their old spot serum for this one. The smell of sulfur is gross, which I would deal with if this stuff worked. It's no better than Alba's "quick fix for a pimple" that you can buy at Whole Foods or Target for 1/4 of the price. I loved the old serum because it didn't smell and I could apply it on a pimple underneath my makeup. I don't have acne, but I get hormonal pimples on my period and the old serum was a dream. I'm none too impressed with this new formula. Please bring back the old one! I'm going to exchange this for the blue herbal spot treatment, which is better than this sulfur treatment but not as good as the original lightening spot serum. Pooey.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Product Kiehls Offers I own more than 15 different Kiehls products. The avocado eye treatment, the ultra cleanser, the crema du corps lotion, etc. I love them. And I loved the old blemish treatment so I thought I'd try this new one. It didn't work for me in the weeks I've been using it, and there is noticeable residue after use so it's often impractical to wear under make up, etc. The last blemish treatment was great (worked and always was unnoticeable) please keep it and lose this new one!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Worst replacement product ever I loved the Clearly Corrective daily acne clearing treatment, so I was not happy to hear it was no longer available. The store associate said this stuff is the replacement, a superior product. I noticed the main active ingredient was sulfur. The Clearly Corrective treatment used salicylic acid, not sulfur, so I'm not sure how this version replaces the discontinued product. I was told not to worry about the sulfur, Kiehls added something that counteracts the smell. Not true. If you're looking for a replacement to the Clearly Corrective serum, this is not it. This product is drying, can't be used daily on my skin and has an OVERWHELMING smell of sulfur. I used some Monday night, and have washed my face 4 times since then, and I still smell the sulfur!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I don't get it So I'm a really huge Kiehls fan. I've carried around their blue spot treatment in my purse for over a decade to quickly treat any hormonal acne that pops up during the day, and probably 80% of my face care routine is from Kiehls. About a year ago, the salesperson informed me they were changing the formulation to a sulfur-based acne spot treatment, and that it worked even better than the salicylic acid blue spot treatment, which apparently had been formulated for teenage skin. I've given the product a fair shot...and I just don't get it. Sometimes, it kind of reduces my pimples, but never to the point where they totally go away, and though it did not initially feel like the product dried out my skin, I now have some flakiness issues. It also layers poorly under moisturizers and makeup...it doesn't really absorb into my skin so basically I can only use it at night. A lot of the time, I feel like it literally does nothing to my pimples, which remain just as red and inflamed as they looked three days prior.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disappointed!! So I used to use the blue herbal spot treatment wish was AMAZING! I went online to order more (the one I had been using was a few years old!)...I saw reviews were bad and saying ingredients had changed in it! So....I went to the Kiehls store and explained what I had and how I as concerned the new herbal spot treatment wasn’t as effective and asked their opinion on it vs this breakout control spot treatment. She suggested this breakout control.. so I bought it! Unfortunately it’s awful! I’ve used it for a week now and it hasn’t dried up a single spot. Unlike the old Blue herbal spot treatment! That stuff literally would make pimples disappear overnight! I’m very dissatisfied with this kind :( I don’t recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing pimple reduction This product works wonders. I've tried many acne medicines including salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, and even ibuprofen creams from Japan. They don't really work well. I went to Khiels this weekend and was recommended this product. I usually get a big pimple every other month. I put this on at night and in the morning I can already tell a huge difference. My Pimple is half the size !! This stuff is amazing. Yes it does smell bad, however it's totally worth it for how effective it is.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hugely Disappointed You should have never changed the formula! I used the prior formula for well I ver 10 years - my go to product the help manage my adult acne. The new formula is gritty, the sulfur smell is offensive, it does not blend well and it doesn't work to treat my acne. Such a huge disappointment after so many years.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The smell of sulfur is overwhelming I went into the store to purchase the Blue Herbal Spot Treatment. The associate advised me it was no longer available and that this product was replacing it. She told me it was a far better product so I purchased it. I used it twice a day, daily, for a week. I put it on my jaw line because I tend to break out there. The smell of sulfur is overwhelming. I told myself I could get past it, so I kept using it. After a week, I couldn't deal with the smell any more. I ended up returning it after a week. Another weird observation I have is that it makes sterling silver jewelry tarnish. I wear sterling silver rings and a necklace every day. I noticed one day my rings turned black. I thought it was strange, but I just polished them and wore them again the next day. Well, they turned black again. I couldn't figure out why because I wear them every day and they have never tarnished. That night I noticed my necklace turned black. I finally researched what could cause silver to tarnish and read that sulfur in the air will make it tarnish quicker. I realized because I put this cream on my jaw line and the necklace was on my neck and that I put my hands under my chin, that the sulfur in this product caused them to tarnish. Since I have stopped using it, my jewelry has not tarnished. It did seem to clear up a few pimples, but it dried out my skin.
