D-PANTHENOL
D-Panthenol, also known as Vitamin B5, is known to help dry skin increase its water-holding capacity. Within our formula, D-Panthenol helps fortify, protect and repair the skin barrier.
MADECASSOSIDE
Madecassoside is a highly active, concentrated compound carefully extracted from the Centella Asiatica plant and known for its soothing properties. Our Centella Asiatica derived Madecassoside is sustainably sourced from local farms in Madagascar.

Centella is a Blessing for sensitive skin
I keep this on hand with Sensitive skin that tends to get read and splotchy from most products. But I do wish that Kiehl's would bring back the old version - it was lighter and I think that was a great product. I do like this as an alternative but it's not as good as the original in my opinion for daily use.

Please bring back the Centella skin recovery salve!!!
I've not used this product but based on the reviews it's not comparable to the Centella Skin Recovery Salve which has been a STAPLE in my makeup kit for skin prep and anyone having an allergic reaction. When used as a primer, makeup glides on and the skin looks fresh and healthy especially on dry or flaky skin and on camera! I've never found another product like it and I have no idea what I'm going to do when I run out. I have 2 tubes left :-(

THIS PURCHASE CHANGED MY LIFE
After 3 days of using this product, the surface of my skin was changed forever. It restored my moisture barrier so well I stopped getting acne altogether. Pair it with a gentle cleanser and listen when I say a little of this cream goes a long way. Ignore all of these reviews complaining about this product replacing the skin salve - this is it's own product entirely. PLEASE NEVER STOP SELLING THIS!! It is the only moisturizer I will use.

PLEASE BRING BACK THE CENTELLA RECOVERY SALVE
I've tried numerous Kiehls moisturizers, full sized and samples and nothing comes close to the Centella Recovery Salve. I have extremely sensitive skin that is prone to acne, even in my late 50's. I don't tolerate fragrance either. After trying many of the Kiehls mosturizers and finally bought a large sized Kiehl's Super Multi-Corrective Cream, which gave me deep acne. I usually don't get acne but every time I would use this cream I would break out.
In my quest to find a replacement moisturizer, I first tried the Centella Cica Cream. This is the the polar opposite of the Centella Recovery Salve, which was light and soaked into your skin. The Centella Cica Cream is so thick it does not blend into your skin and you have to rub hard to get it to even move around on your face. It sits on top of your skin and doesn't soak in.
Please bring back the CENTELLA RECOVERY SALVE!
I am now researching non-Kiehls moisturizers. I've been a loyal Kiehls customer for decades and I also got my daughter hooked on Kiehls products. My skin is horrible without the old product and there is no current Kiehls moisturizer that can replace the old Centella Recovery Salve.

Bring back Centella recovery skin salve please
Not the first time this has happened with Kiehl’s trying to mess with an already good product. I’ve been using the recovery skin salve after shaving for sensitive skin for over 5 years. I don’t think the new product’s consistency would suit my application and don’t plan on using it. Instead I will try Rodan+Fields soothe sensitive skin treatment until the product returns.

In looking at the ingredients, and heavier texture - I know that this new cream is not the same. My 17 daughter uses this daily! For 4 years - under the recommendation at the counter one summer. We are so disappointed to learn that it is discontinued. Why does that happen?

The best replacement I have found for Rosa Arctica Cream
I have exceptionally sensitive dry skin, and was a loyal user of the Rosa Arctica cream for many years. When it was discontinued, I was so disappointed! Folks at the Kiehl’s counter pointed me to one product after another product as “THE replacement for me,” but none of them pleased my finicky face. Finally, while browsing the Kiehl’s site, I found this product, and gave it a shot. It fits my needs well, although it’s not a perfect replacement. It is gentler and more calming than the RAC, and I love that. It can be even more difficult to work with, even when warmed thoroughly between the fingers (I really think that a bit of additional aloe oil would go a long way here!). It doesn’t moisturize quite as well, so I still use a separate product when my skin needs it. All in all, I’m glad to have found this product!

PLEASE bring back the old formula!
This is nothing close to the original formula. I literally wanted to cry when I found out it was discontinued. Nothing and I mean nothing has ever helped my sensitive skin like Centella Recovery Skin-Salve has. PLEASE bring it back. This product is a poor substitute for the original.

Bring the old formula back PLEASE
Loved the old formula of this salve, it was the first moisturiser to ever actually work for my really dry and sensitive skin. It was calming and made my face so super smooth and feel like normal face skin! The best, loved it!!
So I was so sad when I found out it was discontinued and replaced by a new formula. But I tried the new one and no. Just, no. I have never used a product that was this bad for my face. It’s too thick so it feels really sticky and like it’s never gonna dry. It broke me out over my whole face, leaving me with so many pimples it looked like I had acne. And clogged my pores which made me have so many blackheads.
I then gave the new formula to my mom for her to try (she also LOVED the old one) and she had the exact same issues I had.
I’m so sad because the old formula was absolutely perfect. The best moisturiser ever. And the new formula is the just worst, doesn’t work for me even the slightest. Please bring the old one back! I’m over here basically begging.

Bring Back Recovery Salve
Received a sample of this after finding out the salve was discontinued. Do not care for the texture, at all. It feels like I have to use so much more and can not use with anything else (to add sunscreen or makeup on top just feels cakey). And the original actually calmed my sensitive skin after a breakout or treatment. This... it’s just a Poor substitute for the original.

Helping with perioral derm
I’ve been struggling with another perioral dermatitis outbreak around my mouth for weeks. I am a long time Kiehls fan and while not everything has worked for me understandably, I purchased this on a whim and it is helping. It hasn’t yet solved the situation but made it so much better and less inflamed and flaky. Thank you.

Prefer the old Centella Recovery Skin Salve
The old version had a better texture and was very effective for my dry skin during winter and also calmed the skin after laser. This new version’s texture is not as good and quite difficult to blend evenly especially if you are wearing makeup on TOP of it. Please bring back the old version

No more sandpaper!
I have incredibly dry, sandpapery, super sensitive facial skin. Every winter I have the worst time trying to find something that makes my face feel, well, like skin and not something I could use to file my nails. I bought the tube on a whim and holy smokes. Yes, it's thick. Yes, it doesn't absorb quickly, but that's okay for what it *does* do properly is work. I use it twice a day, and the sandpaper texture is gone for hours. My skin doesn't look dusty, it looks hydrated. It feels hydrated. I'm hoping to get down to once a day use because it is kinda pricey, but for now, I'm loving the magic. Thank you. Now to find something just as magical for my hair!

Too sticky
I really wanted to like this moisturizer. I have dull, very dry, sensitive skin. This moisturizer feels like I am putting vaseline on my face. It does not absorb. My makeup just sits right on top. Very sticky. I did not receive a sample. I purchased a full size product.

Finally!
I’ve looked for something to help my ultra dry irritated skin. I use a CPAP machine and had developed irritation on my face where the straps of the mask sit. On top of that I’m extremely dry. I looked all over for something that would work. I purchased this product over the weekend and by Tuesday my situation was resolved. Not improved, resolved. It did not take much but it kept me hydrated night and day. It’s thick but it works! Press it in and leave it.

I love everything about this cream, EXCEPT...
...the packaging! Would much prefer a jar. I feel like I can never get all the good stuff out of the tube without cutting it open with scissors and having to dig around in there (and those edges are sharp!). But the cream itself feels great going on, doesn't have an off-putting scent, and it makes my skin feel soft and comfortable with a very nice soft glow. A little goes a long way, and I'd give it top marks for value if it were easier to actually use all of it that I pay for. (see also the lip balm, which only comes in tubes now. Sad!) But generally, this cream is an almost-perfect win. Great job Kiehl's! (just please please PLEASE consider putting it in a better container, I beg of you)

Perfect for winter and sensitive skin
I have some kind of dryness on checks just below my eyes... tried so many things ... nothing worked... I’m
After workout , because of sweat my skin has some kind of dryness on checks.... this cream gave me all benefits to look neat, clear, nourished and beautiful. During polar vortex my skin was nourished and my husband faced intense dryness . When he used this cream within night his skin got recovered and he love this cream. He is kind of picky in texture... he likes something smooth and not thick in face creams. But after experiencing the best effect on him, he has no criticism for the texture.

Awesome for sensitive skin
When I first got the sample, I conversed it and used it up as much as possible because I noticed how effective it worked on my acne. I put it on every night and I love it, I do not wake up with new pimples.

Perfect for sensitive skin
I tried this as a sample and absolutely loved it! I can see and feel the difference in my skin, especially during the winter when it is cold outside and then coming into a heated building. I highly recommend and look forward to purchasing a full size

Perfect for my skin
I absolutely love this cream. You don’t use a lot of it. I have pretty bad acne, but my skin is also incredibly dry too, and my acne gets worse when it’s dry. Anything oily, though, just tends to make it break out; so, I have a really challenging time with balancing both of those things. I use this with the deep moisture balm, and it’s perfect! I use it with my acne skincare routine (unblemish by Roman and fields). I add this in before the sunscreen during the day and follow with the deep moisture balm and then just skip the sunscreen at night. It’s fantastic for sensitive skin, and it has completely helped replenish the moisture in my skin. I would highly recommend it for anyone with acne prone skin, especially if it’s on the dryer side!
I do agree that the texture can be a little bothersome if you don’t like certain textures. Because I always put it underneath the final lotion I wear, though, it never leaves my skin greasy!

Great product
I used this product after using the microdermabrasion scrub. I'm heavy handed and noticed that I may have exfoliated a bit too harshly as areas were a little sensitive. I only had the trial size of the Centella Cica cream however a little goes a long way and my face felt soothed shortly after applying. I will be getting this to accompany the scrub.

Really Great Creme!
I actually haven’t bought a full bottle yet and have just tried the sample but I plan to buy this one soon. I love the texture actually (minus the other person’s review)... it’s perfect for hydrating overnight. I put this on my face and neck and it feels like it instantly goes to work with hydrating my skin after a long day. Doesn’t take much to rub it in. Dries quick. Smell is pleasant with not much noticed at all. Has not caused me to break out either. Will be buying! I’ll update this once I buy and use the first bottle!

Give it a try!
While I just received a sample and have not used this product for a long time, I plan to purchase it. Also, I do not have sensitive skin, but I do like the texture of the cream and feel that it's actually working to enhance my skin. I typically don't write reviews, but felt the need to do so when I saw the one negative review and wanted to at least counteract that so others would consider trying it.

As always, I love trying new products from Kiehl's...this one I really didn't care for. My skin felt sticky after applying (which I despise). I will say that even though I didn't love this, my skin didn't break out... which it usually does when my face feels greasy, so I would say that this is a wonderful product for people with sensitive/dry skin, just not for me.
