HIV/AIDS Research

Today, 1.1 million people are living with HIV/AIDS in the U.S. and nearly 40,000 people contract HIV every year in the U.S. However, in the past six years, new HIV infections in the U.S. have fallen 18 percent, and Kiehl’s is very proud to have been part of this progress: since the disease’s emergence in the 80s, the company has been a strong supporter of HIV/AIDS organizations.

In 2010, Kiehl’s combined its history with motorcycles and its philanthropic heritage to create Kiehl’s LifeRide for amfAR, a multi-city, celebrity, charitable motorcycle ride to raise funds and awareness for amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, one of the world’s leading nonprofit organizations dedicated to the support of HIV/AIDS research.

Over the course of each year’s LifeRide, Kiehl’s riders take to the road to meet and educate the public, and raise funds for amfAR’s work. At the conclusion of this year’s ride, Kiehl’s LifeRide for amfAR will have ridden more than 12,000 miles since 2010, and raised more than $1.9 million, funding ten cure-related research projects.

In conjunction with the event, a Limited Edition Ultimate Strength Hand Salve puts the cure in our customers’ hands. By purchasing this product, they’re directly giving back to the cause, and caring for their skin at the same time.
