HIV/AIDS Research

Today, 1.1 million people are living with HIV/AIDS in the U.S., and nearly 39,000 people are diagnosed with HIV every year in the U.S.

Since the disease’s emergence in the 80s, Kiehl’s has been a strong supporter of HIV/AIDS organizations. In 1996, Kiehl’s made HIV/AIDS a key philanthropy pillar and over the past two decades, supporting HIV/AIDS organizations has been at the heart of Kiehl’s efforts.

Since 2001, Kiehl’s has raised approximately $3,580,000 for HIV/AIDS organizations, and in 2007, Kiehl’s was honored with The Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR) Award of Courage for its ongoing work for HIV/AIDS awareness.

A ride through our history with LifeRide for amFAR

In 2010, Kiehl’s combined its history with motorcycles and philanthropic heritage to create Kiehl’s LifeRide for amfAR, an annual, multi-city, celebrity, charitable motorcycle ride to raise funds and awareness for amfAR, one of the world’s leading nonprofit organizations dedicated to the support of HIV/AIDS research.

Over the course of each year’s LifeRide, Kiehl’s riders take to the road (a different route each year!) to meet and educate the public and raise funds for amfAR’s work.

At the conclusion of this year’s 10th Anniversary ride up, Kiehl’s LifeRide for amfAR will have ridden more than 12,000 miles since 2010 and raised more than $2 million, funding ten cure-related research projects.
