Key Ingredients
Olive Fruit Oil

Olive Fruit Oil

A valuable oil for skin and hair care, olive oil has been used for centuries as a cosmetic and food by peoples of the Mediterranean region. The oil is obtained by cold pressing of ripe olives and it is the first press, or “extra vierge” oil, that is used for creams, lotions, hair treatments and ointments. Extra virgin contains a high level of healthy monounsaturated fatty acids and antioxidant vitamin E that moisturize, protect and nourish. It is very beneficial for dry, damaged, or split hair.

Avocado Oil

Avocado Oil

Avocado Oil, derived from the fruit of a tropical American tree, is a rich, fatty-acid emollient known to be the most moisturizing of any fruit oil. It is also a natural source of amino acid proteins, Vitamins A, D, E and Potassium.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product, Poor Packaging A little rubbed into palms and applied to my super dry broken hair has completely changed it’s appearance in a few days. Yes, the cap needs to be removed and the product dug out of the bottle but it is far superior to anything else I’ve tried for my broken frizzy hair. I have a lot of hair, too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best product in a long time I have extremely thick curly course hair that tends to be very dry. I’ve tried actually everything to control my hair all my life. This product was a friend’s which I borrowed in a pinch and now I’m obsessed with it. I brush my hair in the shower, shampoo with a quality purifying shampoo and DO NOT CONDITION, if u do you’re essentially going to try to run oil into oil and end up with a mess. Then when I get out and pat dry my hair, while it’s damp but very dry from being shampooed I work this product thru. My hair has never ever been better: super management, soft, hydrated, great curls, no frizz.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great Product Ruined by Wrong Bottle For some reason, the bottle for this product is made of hard, translucent green plastic. In my experience, this is unlike any other Kiehl's product -- the packaging in everthing else is great (other than in the Age Defender Power Serum with a pump bottle you never get all the product out of). The top is a pop-up squeeze delivery top, very standard. Same, for example, as on the men's Facial Fuel Energizing Face Wash. No problem there. But the Face Wash has a soft plastic bottle, so you can squeeze the stuff out through the top. The Strengthening and Hydrating Hair Oil-in-Cream, this product, by contrast, has a HARD plastic bottle. Really hard. You can't squeeze it. You have to unscrew the top, then hit the bottom like a bottle of catsup. Ridiculous. It's impossible to know how this mistake has been made, nor can I find any interest in the company in fixing it, having reported it before. If someone at Kiehl's reading this would simply requisition a bottle of Strengthening and Hydrating Hair Oil-in-Cream and try squeezing it, they'd see instantly what a mistake the bottle is and they'd understand perfectly. A complete mystery why the company won't address this. Really disappointing. They seem very happy to waste our time letting us tell them these things and not rectifying them. Sorry for the unpleasant comment. Such a good company making such a needless mistake on a good product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Product if you use it right I am surprised to read some reviews about this product. I bought this reluctantly but with the hope that maybe this would solve my frizz issues... And it does! I think a lot of the reviews here describe this negatively perhaps because they apply too much product on to the hair. There were times where I put too much and it led to very bad results. If you have curly hair like me, (I like to let my hair air dry as much as possible), I would suggest you apply a small amount EVENLY through your hair strands AFTER combing it. Do not apply it before you comb through your hair because its going to make everything more difficult. This product also works great if you need to blow dry your hair. On my hair it actually kind of relaxed the curl which is a cool different look. I agree with other reviews though that the bottle needs to be changed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst purchase ever So disappointed with this purchase. I have tried it several times hoping for a different result but each time, I end up with hair that is sticky, frizzy, and a tangled mess. The packaging is horrible as well. Can't get product out of bottle! I can't believe that this has not been pulled off the shelves yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worst product ever Worst purchase ever... Sticky, stiff, drying, gummy. Horrible product. Atrocious. The only thing going for it is a light scent. If you're a wash-n-go girl, this product weighs down, stiff, sticky, gummy, and frizzy/dries out at the same time. It's the worst product on the market. By far - worse than drugstore leave-ins, worse than Ouidad, worse than Devachan. None of the Kiehl's conditioners or leave-ins are any good. The only way the site would accept this post this was with 5 stars... it's really a Zero!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works for Very dry hair/scalp and with itching. Tried a number of shampoos but nothing worked. This seems to help at least for a few hours. Agree that it's hard to get out of the bottle

Rated 1 out of 5 by from One of the worst purchases Went to Kiehl's for a hair product that would hydrate my dry fine hair. Strengthening and Hydrating Hair Oil-in-Cream was suggested to me. This product leaves my fine hair all clumped together and sticky. I thought I used too much so I shampooed and conditioned my hair again and use less product. The results were the same, sticky unhydrated hair. I returned the product. When I went to another Kiehl's and spoke to a sales person, I told her my issue and she suggested another product. I asked her about Strengthening and Hydrating Hair Oil-in-Cream and she said that she would not have suggested that product for my ihair. When I told her that another Kiehl's suggested it, she said she didn't know why they would suggest it.

Is this good for colored hair ?

Asked by: Anonymous
This is one of my favorite Kiehl products. Unlike most leave-in conditioners, a tiny bit goes a long way--a dab the size of a dime in your hand. Massage it in and voila!

Is this a leave in treatment?

Asked by: Anonymous
Yes it can be used that way for a thick dry frizzy or curly hair. Apparently for very thin or oily hair it just creates a sticky mess LOL.
