As a nurse I'm constantly washing my hands and not only are they always dry and cracked they are very sensitive and burn if certain lotions/creams are applied. I happened to pass by a Kiehl's while in the mall and decided to go in. I purchased Ultimate Strength Hand Salve and LOVE it, it's seriously the best cream I've ever used. I have not seen my hands not dry in a very long time, I just wish I'd found it sooner and not have waisted money on all other lotions/creams that never worked. I will never use another hand cream!
Rated 1 out of 5 by Monad Doesn't work well and has parabens to boot.
I cannot believe that in this day and age, that anyone would still put parabens in a product. On top of that, this product did not keep my hands moisturized any better than any other drugstore brand I've used. It might have been less effective. I received this for a present, and I'm really glad I didn't spend my own money on it. Terrible.

I've used this for almost 10 years - love it. Can't live without this!
Rated 5 out of 5 by Publicpollen The best Hand cream you can find!
This is the best hand cream you can find. I have tried a lot of both the expensive and the cheap brands of hand cream. Some does not help at all, some smell to much, and most of them make my hands sticky for a while.
I work a lot in the garden, and although I mostly use gloves, my hand gets severely dry and the skin feels stiff. But this cream makes my hands feel fine instantly.

Better than L'Occitane, Burt's Bees, & every other brand out there luxury or cheap. I'd definitely recommend it
Rated 2 out of 5 by M0851 Doesn't work for me
I went from applying this once a day to twice a day. Seeing no results, I tried applying a little bit every time after washing my hands, but I just got greasy hands that would stay greasy for at least half an hour. After an hour, my hands would go back to being dry. It might work for other people, but my hands are far too dry.
Rated 5 out of 5 by TKRose this is my new best friend
I wash my hands A LOT for work, probably close to 20 times a day. Obviously, my hands started to looked like elephant skin (sorry elephant, you're pretty but your skin ages you a bit.) I received a sample of this and decided to give it a try, and now it has become my best friend, I can't go to work without this. It improved the texture of my hands, no more cracking cuticles or fingertips, and less paper cuts. For anyone who doesn't know, it is ridiculously easy to get a paper cut when your hands are severely dry. Turn a page, cut. Grab an envelope, cut. This product is a bit on the thick side so when I'm trying to wash my hands clean I need to scrub longer...but I need this thickness to protect my elephant gloves.
I love this product so much I want to hoard it in my attic but it's destined to be a life saver for another person, so I won't hoard. But I want to. I hope Kiehl's never stops making this.
Rated 4 out of 5 by PleaseParabenFreeKiehls Very Good Hand Creme -- Not Great
It's exactly as advertised, which is rare these days. If you have dry hands from the winter or just in general, it's a solid emulsifier to make the hands get back to normal. Yes, they do have some suppleness after use of the hand cream, but I've used better ones for about the same value.
If you've read any of my reviews, you'd know I'm an ingredient junkie. Despite it having methylparaben as one of its preservatives, there are no bad ingredients. They left out the ingredient "fragrance," which is tremendous because that's the last thing you need for dry hands. It still has a nice aroma due to some essential oils and extracts in the salve. I wish allantoin and shea butter were a bit higher on the ingredients list, but honestly they have good emulsifiers as is. So, I can't complain too much.
Lastly, I think it's important to note the lack of greasiness feeling after using a good amount of the product. It absorbs into the skin very well, so less grease and less time waiting for your dry hands to feel better. Overall, as stated in the tittle, it is a very good product. It's not my favorite hand creme for making my hands really, really soft, so that's why it's a 4/5 instead of a 5/5. I would still highly recommend trying it. I would be surprised if you regretted it.
