A signature Kiehl’s ingredient, Squalane is a botanical lipid that is similar in molecular structure to natural skin lipids. It has an exceptional affinity to skin, and because it’s easily absorbed, Squalane helps restore skin’s natural moisture balance to keep it extra soft and supple.
Naturally occurring in plant leaves, cereal germ oils, and milk, Vitamin E is known to be an important antioxidant and free-radical scavenger that contains moisturizing properties.
Rosa Arctica (Haberlea rhodopensis)
Known as a regeneration flower, it is able to survive up to 31 months in a dry-out cycle, by falling into anabiosis. When proper moisture conditions are restored, it returns to life within hours. On skin, it works to jolt cellular vitality, stimulating skin's own collagen and elastin production.
Lipids
This formula also contains cocoa and shea butters and essential fatty acids such as oleic, stearic and palmatic acid to help replenish skin's barrier.
The rich, dense formula provides instant hydration and can be used day and night. After cleansing skin, we recommend applying Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate, a treatment more powerful than retinol and then applying Rosa Arctica. And we suggest always wearing a sunscreen such as Super Fluid UV Defense SPF 50+.

I'm 34 and use this cream about 3 times a week. I really like it and find it effective but before buying it I tried out a sample which I'd gotten at a department store. With all these richer creams it can be really helpful to try it for a bit first and see if it suits you. Even if you don't have a Kiehls shop maybe there's a Nordstroms or Nieman Marcus nearby?

I use Rosa Arctica as my night cream, and it works so wonderfully. I wake up every morning feeling my face replenished and reenergized. I normally use the Ultra Facial Toner to tone my skin first, then use this cream together with the Midnight Recovery Eye Cream. Rosa Arctica absorbs extremely well within a few seconds, and it won't leave your skin oily at all. I find this combination of toner and cream to be the most effective solution for my sensitive & dry skin. As many people wrote in the Product Review, a little goes a long way and one jar lasts a long time (up to 6 months). I recently purchased my second jar, and I am sure I will continue to use this cream for many years to come! Highly recomended!

When I use Rosa Arctica, I use it both AM & PM. I use this as my moisturizer. I live in the high desert, and it's extremely dry here. When I apply it, I like to use the small spatula to scoop it out, then keep it on my fingers for a few seconds to warm it up and then I apply. I even use this over the incredible new products from Kiehl's (that does work) the Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Serum.
Rosa Arctica is wonderful, I also use the Kiehl's sunscreen over it, and of course that is another great product.
Truthfully is there a Kiehl's products that isn't great?? Both my husband and myself use them and love them all.

You do not need another moisturizer, and I'd rather use it at night. The consistency is super thick and during the day it feels like a heavy cream which when it's hot and humid is no fun. It heals up acne scars, broken skin and little cuts I get on my hands in half the time - I love it. I use it with dark skin corrector and over the midnight serum.

This cream is luxuriously rich so I used it at night and really enjoyed it's creaminess. Since it contains no sunscreen, if you use it during the day you would naturally want to use sunscreen to protect against skin cancer in addition to this cream. It contains no ingredients that would make someone photosensitive.

hi this is janet. Shanes wife. I use rosa arctica at night. Day time I use cryste marine also I use a pump corrector. I have used it so much I have wore the name off. I love double strength deep wrinkle filler just a tiny bit for under each eye in the morning. If possible go to a kiehls dealer Nordstrom or our mall in slc has a kiehls store. samples help a ton. I love all of their products have been using them for years I am 50 and always told I look at least 35 thanks to kiehls!!! When it comes to my skin I will spare no cost.

I love this cream because of its creaminess on aging skin and the way it plumped and smoothed my skin without feeling oily (I am 60 too) but it might be a bit rich under liquid make-up for day use. It is good to use a rich night cream and a lighter moisturizer with sunscreen for day.

It is never too soon to put great ingredients on your face at night! Unless you are prone to breakouts this is a great cream or find one with peptides and antioxidants like Vitamin C and E. You skin will look better longer, just like eating lots of fruits and veggies, your skin will show that you have taken good care of it!

This is a tough one because the abysinne is also a moisturizer but it has SPF in it and the Rosa does not, so you will need the SPF from another source. I would use abysinne in the morning and then Rosa at night when you don't need the layer of SPF
