Brian K: i was drawn to the packaging in that it's in a jar rather than a tube. if you squeeze or pump too much in other packaging it's difficult at best to get it back in the tube so it can be wasteful. Only potential issue w/this packaging i can think of is how thin the product might get when warm. i guess we'll see. i will say, i do like this sunscreen. works very well and has a very light feel on the skin. Kristin L asked: Hello,
I need help finding a moisturizer, without sunscreen, for my teen son, 14 years old. He has normal to dry skin with an occasional breakout. Mostly a few blackheads in the T zone area.
He does a good job of washing his face. Uses deep pore cleanser and cross training sunscreen.
I just ordered him lip balm and eye cream (dark circles hereditary).
Please help me decide on a moisturizer for him that won't be too strong or too heavy. I'm hoping that he will add moisturizing into his routine in am and pm. I have tried with other products I have but he complains about the smells. I assume this is because those products are more for women?? Maybe a men's product, smell wouldn't bother him??
Thank you, I appreciate you taking time to help me with this ;)

Brenton M: Cross Terrain has been great for skiing and hiking in CO and kayaking in TX. I have been happy w sun and wind protection. It has a very mild natural smell and taste, and works fine for me on lips, nose, ears. Dec 8, 2013

A shopper asked: Could this also work as aftershave? Sep 6, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Lawrence L: I would NOT use this application as an after-shave.
It's wonderful as a stay-on sun screen; in fact, the best I have ever used in terms of being water and sweat proof and lasting strength.
It's too thick, and gooey and might clog pores as an after-shave.
And it will make your face look shiny.
My favorite after-shave is natural aloe vera gel.
Sep 6, 2013

Daniel P: I think it would be fine to use as an aftershave. I've never used it this way before, but this product acts as a skin conditioner and protects against UV rays, so I guess it would be a good idea. It is so mild enough that if you had minor cuts or skin irritation from shaving, it would work nicely as a healing ointment similar to Acquaphor for excema. Sep 6, 2013

Sean M: Not a good aftershave.

More suited for day skiing or beach volleyball.

A shopper asked: I'm a surfer and in search for good sunblock that will stay put <3-4 hrs in the ocean. Would you recommend this product? Most of the reviews I've read so far are people who have used this skiing or running, any swimmers/ surfers? May 1, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Greg M: I'm sorry, but I wear it running . It's not working well for me because the sunscreen is rather thick and greesy so it builds-up on your sun- glasses .
I would think it would really work well for swimmers or surfers .

James M: I've had good luck with this product in the water. it goes on thick, but it provides very good protection from the sun and it stays on for a few hours. SPF 50 may be excessive, but I need good coverage. May 2, 2013

David B: I have been using this sun block for a couple years now and I can tell you that it will definitely stay on your face while surfing. I am in the construction business and occasionally work outside for 8 hours at a time sweating and wiping my face and it doesn't even phase this stuff. I also put it on when I go to the pool and it stays on after swimming. Highly recommend!! I now put this same sun block on my 4 year old daughter before she goes out the door for school. She has not been sun burned and it does not bother her eyes. May 2, 2013

Peter C: The Facial Fuel is lighter than the Cross Terrain, so if you have oily skin I'd go with the former. The Cross Terrain is pretty heavy (almost waxy) but it works extremely well for a long day outdoors when you are sweating and/or in the water often. Sep 12, 2013
Reply to Peter Good answer? Yes (1) No (0)
erick f: I would go with the cross terrain. Because it is not a lotion but more like a wax or paste, it stays on better even when sweating. It is actually the best sunscreen I have used for the face in terms of not dripping away when sweating or stinging my eyes. Sep 9, 2013
Reply to erick Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Luis T: Cross terrain felt thicker to me, so in the summer heat I prefer facial fuel, I have normal to dry skin and don't sweat much. My advice is, time to get some samples and try them out in your routine Sep 10, 2013

Sep 6, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
David S: This cross terrain face protector is an excellent product - one of my favorites. Goes on smoothly and evenly. But for aftershave, I prefer the calming, cooling effect of moisturizer. If opt for the Facial Fuel moisturizer with SPF15 sunscreen instead. Sep 7, 2013
Reply to David Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Ruth D: I only use this product when I am doing outside activities like hiking or kayaking and it works great for that, because it goes on thick. I would recommend using facial fuel energizing moisture treatment for men with SPF. Sep 6, 2013
Reply to Ruth Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
I would not use this as an afetr shave- it is thick as vaseline and will clog you pours - it has no good properties as an after shave but great for heavy sweating ----
hope this helps

KAREN N: I bought this for my brother. He has normal skin and is outdoors a lot.
He has had no breakouts, because when he wears it, his skin is so dry I don't think it matters. For normal skin I think it is fine.
Hope this helps.

gerardo f: I'm exactly like you. I have been using the Cross-Terrain UV Face Protector SPF50 and it while it's a wax like substance, when you apply it, it does not feel greasy and it lasts ALL day! I'm a long course triathlete and I apply it once and then forget it. I use it on face, ear and neck. SUPER product, highly recommend it! Sep 9, 2013

A shopper asked: what is the UVA rating on this product? -Cross-terrain spf 50 Apr 21, 2012

David B: Not sure, it doesn't have a rating on the tub. I just looked, sorry. But I can tell you this stuff really works. I am an electrician and do a fair amount of outside work. When I know I am working outside I put it on don't worry about being in the sun ALL day long. Even with other sun blocks I would have to re-apply and still come home with mild red skin. Not to mention stinging sweat in my eyes. Since I've been using the cross terrain I have had NO sun burns or stinging eyes. Love this stuff. I am now putting it my 3 year old daughter who would come home from preschool with sunburn. Not any more and she doesn't complain about stinging eyes. May 14, 2012

Brian K: It doesn't have a UVA rating on the packaging. All it says is "Provides UVA/UVB Broad Spectrum protection to help prevent sunburn." May 16, 2012

Brent Cottong asked: Does this Cross-Terrain product contain Oxybenzone?
Unfortunately your Super Fluid does...
I'm looking for a good water-resistent product w/out Oxybenzone.

A shopper asked: is it okay to use although i am a girl? Apr 23, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (1)
Ben W: Actually, I used a different product than the one you're asking about. But I would say, is a face protecting product gender-specific? And I don't know the answer to that, but would add, try to get a list of ingredients of the product you're wanting; Google each one; and I'd say if none of the ingredients are gender-specific (e.g., one that causes beard growth) then I don't see the harm in using it. Too, call your nearest Neiman Marcus store or Kiehl's store and ask them. The Kiehl's website lists all their locations. Good luck. Apr 29, 2012
