Good question, as I have found it is excellent for both! In fact, my skin feels so smooth after applying the solution, that I often do not even bother to put on moisturizing cream. Truly, your face will look better after one application. And for the purpose of evening skin tone, it's excellent and you can see the difference in just a couple of days. The darker spots take more time, but begin to fade within two weeks.
So, it's a two-fer -- a very good value.

I have dry, aging skin and have tried many different products, including Kiehl's. Lately I've been using the Cryste Marine Ultra Riche moisturizer and the Cryste Marine Firming eye treatment and have found very nice results with both. It's moisturizing without being too heavy and it firms my skin. I also received advise from a Kiehl's rep. at a Nordstroms that the Rose Arctica is nice for really dry skin, but I haven' t tried that yet. I hope this helps!

Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution works...it fades and with time eliminates the dark spots...just be patient and use daily and with time you will see results. Since it is not a moisturizer use with Midnight Recovery and or Ultra Facial Cream.

Men can use this product. It's still potent. It only lightened my spots leftover from pimples, not hyperpigmentation. Use night and day after cleansing/toning as the first thing you put on your face (ex: Take a shower and put this on first before a moisturizer). This can easily be used with a moisturizer/sunscreen, just be sure to use the Clearly Corrective first and before any moisturizers!

It actually works very well on black skin. It is the only ethnicity where they have seen the best results for getting rid of acne marks. Use it twice a day, about 3 drops. Make sure to use sunscreen during the day. If you find it too oily for your skin, then just use as a spot treatment.

In the morning, I put it on after I cleanse, and then before moisturizing and then makeup. At bedtime, I'll cleanse, then put on the solution, and Kiehl's Midnight Recovery. Within just a few weeks I noticed great improvement in the fading of dark spots on my face, and after the end of 2 bottles, all of my dark spots were gone!

Directly after applying it and it dries, (it dries quickly), I use my usual face cream and Khiels Midnight Recovery in the evening and Powerful Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate and face cream at morning.

I actually love this product, so I am sorry that you are not seeing results. The way that I use it is to apply a thin layer to my entire face by gently rubbing it in. I usually only need a few drops per application. I wear it under my moisturizer (I am currently using the Clearly Corrective Hydrating Moisture Emulsion, which may be helping.) Hope this helps. I usually only need a few drops per application. I wear it under my moisturizer (I am currently using the Clearly Corrective Hydrating Moisture Emulsion, which may be helping.) Hope this helps. Most definitely for me! I have used this for about 6 months on my hands but always with Super Fluid LV Defense (SPF 50+) over it (as I was directed to by the Kiehl's consultant at the store). The age spots have gotten very much lighter but do not seem to totally disappear. I would not feel confidant using a product with hydroquinone over a long period since it is carcinogenic.

Definitely! I use Clearly Corrective Solution every night prior to applying Retin A. It's a good combination that really works and is better than the former spot correcting lotion I was using from the dermatologist. In fact, Clearly Corrective is much better for my skin than the previous very expensive product and there are no interactions or irritations from using the two together.

I would not recommend using this under your eye for dark circles. You can try using Midnight Recovery Eye at night time and Eye Alert in the morning. Both have properties that help combat dark circles. Another eye cream that helps a lot with dark circles is Rosa Artica Eye. It is very moisturizing, reduces fine lines, brightens under the eye, and gets rid of dark circles. This is by far my favorite product. I've seen a big improvement under my eyes, and I've been using it for 6 months.

I was using a different brand of cleanser/make-up remover as I still had some in my cabinet and noticed a burning sensation when I applied the Dark Spot Solution and moisturizer this does not happen when I use all Kiehl's products or I wash my face and then wait awhile before finishing the skin care routine.

I would say, yes! I have many past acne scars but still have an occasional breakout. I have VERY sensitive skin and do not have any problem using them in combination. I use the Dark Spot Solution in the morning and at night and still use a spot treatment with benzoyl peroxide for breakouts as needed and have not encountered any problems at all. The Dark Spot Solution is very gentle and I would say it does not interfere with other products. Hope this helps!

Yes. You can use your Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution (CCDSS) morning and night. During day time use your CCDSS first then layer with your moisturizer and sunblock. In the evening after cleansing the face, apply CCDSS first all over your face or you can do spot treatment by just applying on the affected areas. Let the CCDSS absorbed first. This will only take a minute or two. Then apply your Midnight Recovery Solution all over your face. The one thing that makes a product effective is making sure that it penetrates beyond the surface of the skin by making it really clean. If you have devices that help clean your face, like Clarisonic, use it. Good luck with your Dark spots. I know Midnight Recovery works.

I've been using it for about 2 weeks now and there is already a VERY noticeable reduction in the dark spots on the sides of my face from sun damage. port wine marks are usually vascular in nature, not really related to skin pigment (melanin). I don't believe this would have an effect but you could check with your doctor.

I don't know what kind of brown spots yours are; mine are from sun damage and are basically dark pigmentation. If you have sun damage, the Kiehl's should help fade that, and it also gives my skin a luminous, all over glow. I get a lot of compliments on my skin, and I am nearly 60 years old.

Personally, Clearly Corrective has made my pigmentation spots much lighter, but hasn't removed them. I find it most effective with treating post-pimple marks. I have very clear skin most of the time, but lately, when I get pimples and they leave, they leave behind pesky dark spots! If this solution is used as the directions point out, it will help to remove these spots. I would recommend using Kiehl's and using sunscreen on the outermost layer of your skincare regimen in order to prevent more pigmentation sun spots from forming. I personally use an SPF 80+ lotion everyday, rain or shine, sunny or cloudy.
