Mary H:I have not used the version without the SPF so not sure about the texture issue. It is thick and creamy but as to the ghostly finish, this one does not as it is a chemical sunscreen and not a physical one. Physical sunscreens like zinc oxide or titaniam oxide will give that whitish look but they work immediately while a chemical suncreen need to be absorbed by the skin before working so you will have to wait about half an hour to get true protection.
I have been wearing sunscreen everyday for more than twenty years and I found that both chemical and physical work well. For a more polish look, use a chemical one such as this suncreen but on the beach or for everyday running around, its good to have something that works immediately so a physical base sunscreen is good for that.Feb 23, 2013

Karen J:This cream is very hydrating but not oily on your skin. I notice that it gives your skin a healthy glow and is absorbed into the skin. Some creams stay on the skin but do not penetrate to help with dryness. I like the sunscreen in the product so that when I am out I do not have to worry about applying more lotions which can clog your pores and leave your skin oily.
