I'm confused. My mom got a very small bottle with other Kiehl products. There were no directions, but intuitively thought you'd use a drop or two under the eye. It appears that you use it as an all over moisturizer? If it's a recovery complex, wouldn't that mean targeted areas? Thanks for the help in advance!

A shopper on Apr 22, 2013
Best Answer: Midnight recovery complex does its best work on areas that are dry, sun-damaged and prone to wrinkles. These areas tend to be focal, but the product can be used anywhere. It works well combined with moisturizer. Just a drop or two goes a long way. It will sting if it gets in your eye, so use caution around the eye area. This is one of my favorite products and I am always rewarded when I use it consistently.

I always use the product about an hour or two before bedtime because you want it to absorbed thoroughly before retiring to bed.

I am over 80 yrs. old and have always and still have skin texture, tone that elicits complements. I want an overnite serum/creme that will not be greasy, absorb easily and leave skin in its natural state. My skin is normal, sometimes a little dry. Oftentimes I do not use an overnite moisturizer/serum as it is not needed and I wake up with my skin okay. Being blessed with good skin and good genes, what do you recommend for me. I am looking at Midnite Recovery Concentrate? Thanks in advance
Betty R on Apr 21, 2013
Best Answer: Betty, I think Midnight Recovery concentrate would be a great choice for your normal/slightly dry skin. It really has something magic in it, because my skin always looks and feels better after I've applied it before turning in for the night.
It has a wonderful light texture and is not oily or greasy. It's that extra touch that your skin will really appreciate, even though it sounds like you have been blessed with great skin.
You can apply as much or as little as you want; I also like to apply some on my neck, too. It's a luxury you definitely owe yourself!

Will midnight recovery help both these problems? Thanks, Deb
A shopper on Sep 6, 2014
Best Answer: The midnight recovery concentrate is an excellent product. I use it in conjunction with the line-reducing concentrate which is actually what I would recommend more for the specific concerns you have. It contains a high concentrate of L-ascorbic acid which is the only form of stable Vitamin C you should use on your skin to experience notable reduction in lines/wrinkles and fading of age/sun spots.

Basically it is just what it says-a recovery concentrate!
I use it over the wrinkle remover lotion,as Kiehl's recommends. If i skip that, or the Midnight Recovery Concentrate, it is really obvious.

Best Answer: I use it around my eyes and it has not caused any irritation. Be mindful, however, that it does have a lavender oil in it so I'm guessing that could cause irritation for some. Kiehls does sell a Midnight Recovery specifically for the eye area, but I think the consistency is different. I love the original because it disappears into the skin. P.S. I put a tiny droplet in my liquid foundation to make it smooth on easier:) Oh...one last thing...it lasts a loooong time. 'cause it's oil. it won't be absorbed completely by your skin. so another moisturizer will help to do so. like, you apply the essence or nutrition...whatever you call it ... you just apply it on your face, then you need something to make it stay longer~

The serum is called midnight recovery, so i was wondering if you have to apply it at midnight or about that time and then go to sleep. also i was wondering if it is okay to apply the serum two hours before i sleep.?
A shopper on Jul 15, 2013
Best Answer: When I first tried it I was hesitant to apply before sleep, but now that I use it frequently and love it, I sometimes even use it as an AM moisturizer. I think there would be no problem using it a couple of hours before bed. The product is designed for evening because that is when your skin cells renew during sleep plus it has essential oils like lavender that promote relaxation. I've had great success with the product and hope you will as well- whenever you use it!

This product has been suggested to me for Psoriasis and my Eczema-1Is it an appropriate product,? &2 how many times a week should I apply it?
A shopper on Apr 21, 2013
Best Answer: I don't have psoriasis or eczema, but if those are caused by dryness or astringent items, I think this product would be helpful. I read the ingredients and seems very natural and it's very moisterizing without being oily. I really like it and I let my son use it when he had some major dry skin from swimming/chlorine and he felt it worked.

linda b on Feb 12, 2013
Best Answer: I'm not sure about helping with acne as I have dry, mature skin. I don't think anything shrinks pores because that is partly genetic. I love this stuff though, maybe you should try some samples before you buy any.

I have only skin...will this serum still work for me?
MiMi P on Feb 10, 2014
Best Answer: An oil-based product seems counterintuitive and I had the same concerns with my sensitive and oily or "dewy" skin as I like to call it! However, this product has never caused breakouts or irritation and it somehow is absorbed without clogging pores. I highly recommend it, and just go light on application to start out. I now apply a full dropperful to my face at night but started out with a few drops b/c of my concerns about oiliness. No fear there though now.

Do I need to use Midnight Recovery Concentrate along with a night cream before or after it?
A shopper on Feb 5, 2014
Best Answer: No, the serum is your moisturizer. I love this product! Infact I no longer use a face cream. About 3 years ago I developed eczema on my face. I tried several steroid creams from my dermatologist but they were only temporary fixes. This serum keeps it at bay and clears it up! Nothing short of a mirical since I had flawless skin before the eczema started. I noticed a huge difference in skin tone and texture almost immediately. I've tried almost everything on the market and this is the best (without the side eftects of steroids). Hope this answers your question!

Midnight Recovery Concentrate and powerful-strength line-reducing concentrate?
Josephine L on Jan 19, 2014
Best Answer: At night wash your face with any face wash (doesn't have to be Kiehl's; it can be your basic Neutrogena face wash), then apply a toner, followed by the Midnight Recovery Concentrate. Put a few drops on your face and gently rub it in. It's VERY oily so it'll spread quickly without many drops.

A shopper on Aug 6, 2013
Best Answer: I absolutely love this product! I use it nightly and sometimes even during the day if I feel like I need some extra Kiehl's love. It is a bit heavy but it absorbs well and doesn't leave an oily feeling. I have typical T-zone oiliness and have had no problems with this product exacerbating oily areas. Go for it.

A shopper on Jul 10, 2013
Best Answer: I don't think your age matters in this, more like your skin-type. If your skin can take it, then why not?
Just bare in mind to put on this oil right after your toner and give it about 10-15mins or so for your skin to absorb it before putting on all the other skincare products that you're using.

what do you suggest for a moisturizer for women over 60?
t b on Jul 4, 2012
Best Answer: I have been using Kiehl's products (mostly) since I was thirty and I just turned 70 last week. I began with Ultra facial Moisturizer and now my favorite product is the Midnight Recovery Concentrate. Most people tell me I look between 50 and 60 (at least as far as my sin goes). I had an almost 40 year career as an international flight attendant and moisturizing was a must for those long, dry flights! When people ask me how my skin stays so nice, I tell them: good genes and Kiehl's.

I am new to Keihls. I am interested in both the midnight concentrate and the powerful strength line reducing concentrate. What exactly is the difference and which will be the best for me - Im 33 with wrinkles already from too many sunbeds in my teens!! Also do you still need facial moisturisers when using these serums or you use them instead of your usual facial moisturiser?? Also if you use these, do you also need an eye creamm or is it product overload?? Thanks!
Laura A on Jun 8, 2012
Best Answer: Hi, I've only used the midnight recovery so I cannot answer your questions about the difference between it and the line reducing concentrate. I use the midnight recovery after washing my face at night. In the mornings I wake up looking soft and glowing and my skin feels great! I do put on regular moisturizer then in the morning. Over time, the midnight recovery, has changed my skin. After a couple of weeks using it, my best friend mentioned my new makeup was flawless, I smiled and told her I wasn't using any. Pretty awesome if you ask me!
