Allantoin is a compound that is found in Comfrey Root. The comfrey plant is a hairy perennial Eurasian herb long used in herbal medicine. Known to be a bacteria inhibitor, Allantoin can soothe and reduce inflammation in various product formulations.

Apricot Kernel Oil is extracted from apricot kernels and has a very high Vitamin E content (aiding fast absorption) and is a trygliceride composed of 75% oleic acid and 20% linoleic acid, and unsaturated fatty acids esterified with glycerin - similar to avocado oil and sesame oil. Found to be highly compatible with the skin. Apricot Kernel Oil moisturizes and softens skin while helping retain clarity and suppleness.

Avocado Oil, derived from the fruit of a tropical American tree, is a rich, fatty-acid emollient. Avocado Oil is known to be the most moisturizing of any fruit oil. It is also a natural source of Amino Acid proteins, Vitamins A, D, E, and potassium. Helps to restore the natural moisture of the skin.
How to Apply:
-Apply a small amount to clean fingertips and gently massage onto skin in upward, circular motions
-Avoid the eye area
-Remove all residual cleanser with a damp washcloth or rinse if desired
-Follow with the appropriate Kiehl's toner and moisturizer for your skin type

Click on cleansers & masques and you'll find it on the first pag, bottom row, first item in last row -- I put a bottle in my basket today. I don't know about the purify part -- it does a great job cleaning (purifying?), smoothing, softening skin. It is a cleanser. But get this mud/clay masque they have, it's really quite amazing -- it will clarify & purify your skin. Call customer service during their bussiness hours -- very nice knowledgable people in my experience. & what is clearly corrective white -- perhaps the Kiehl's staff can clarify (if possible.)Dec 18, 2012

ELLEN L:Despite its name, this product does not foam. It is very effective as a cleanser, however, and I include my eyekids in cleansing with it. It is non-drying and does not sting my eyes, so I conclude that it is soap-free. My only problem with this product is that it does not have a pump and thus is difficult to dispense. I simply upend it over a container that has a pump and let the cleanse drip in. Kiehl's is non-responsive to my complaints about the packaging of many of its products.Jun 17, 2013
