Amino Acids are fundamental to the human body and construct proteins. When chemically united with fatty alcohol or fatty acid, they have cleansing properties and maintain their mild amphoteric character. Amino Acids are known to moisturize by enhancing the skin's water retention.

KOH-keh-nut OY-il

Coconut oil is an off-white, semi-solid, highly saturated fat expressed from the kernels of the coconut. It is stable when exposed to air. It lathers quickly and is a good skin cleanser commonly used in many skin care formulations. Lathers readily and softens skin.

HI-druh-lie'zd HWEET PRO-teen

Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, also known as by the collective name Phyto Peptides, is an effective substitute for hydrolyzed animal protein derived by acid, enzyme, or other method of hydrolysis. It offers conditioning, moisturizing and film forming properties and is widely in skin care products to help skin retain its moisture and improve its overall appearance.

How to Apply:
-Wet hair
Gently massage a small amount through the scalp area
-Rinse with warm water
-Repeat if desired, and follow with the Kiehl's Conditioner or Styling Aid of your choice
-If contact with eyes occurs, rinse eyes thoroughly with water

I find that the delicate fragrance and the generous lather makes shampooing a pleasant experience for me. I I don't find it necessary to use the companion conditioner. But I always find my hair easy to manage and receive many compliments for having a health shine. One of my friends also uses the Amino Acid Shampoo and loves it. Allison D: I've used this shampoo for almost 8 years. I have long hair and I tend to have a dry scalp so I only wash my hair every other day. I've found this shampoo does not dry out my hair or cause oily build-up on my scalp. I occasionally switch out for a week but this is my forever-standard!

I once tried the Olive Fruit shampoo but felt it made my scalp too oily, felt I needed to wash more hair daily with it.

That said, I do love their olive fruit conditioner over others, though if you tend to get an oily scalp you might want to try something else. Apr 24, 2013
