Sodium PCA is a naturally occurring humectant in the skin, partly responsible for the skin’s moisture-binding capacity. It is derived from amino acids and is highly water absorbing. Due to its moisture-binding ability, it is a high performance humectant which increases the skin’s softness when added to products.
Zinc is a key skin mineral helps to regulate sebum by inhibiting the enzyme activity on the sebaceous gland. Known to have anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory benefits.
Magnesium is found in high concentrations in skin cells, helps to restore skin’s barrier function to promote the growth of new, healthy cells.

Dennis T: I've done a good deal of research on men skin care for guys with oily skin. The Facial Fuel No-Shine Hydrator kept being mentioned, so I thought I'd give it a try.Jun 4, 2013
Nicholas Y: My skin is very red and usually becomes shiny after a few hours. ALL products either provide a momentary relief or just make the problem worse. I am hoping that for once I can get my skin under control.May 28, 2013
Dan A: No shine, but doesn't really absorb new oil. I prefer the ultra facial oil free.May 27, 2013
Su Hyun L: My boyfriend also has oily skin, wants travel-size oil-free lotionMay 5, 2013
Jared M: It works to keep my face from being overly shiny, especially at social events.May 5, 2013

Wendy N: You would think I was a teenager (real age is 63) as much oil my facial skin produces. I have to blot my face about every 2 hrs. I just wish the rest of my body thought it was as young.Feb 17, 2013
Howard R: Great hydrator for on the go. Keeps the shine away. lol!Feb 15, 2013

Deborah T: Great for light moisturizing and oil controlDec 11, 2012
Richard T: i decided to try something new and it caused me to break out and it did not work nearly as well as facial fuel does with my skin. i was dissappointedDec 7, 2012
Web S: I have one area on my face that is a little oily (t-zone) so I thought I'd see if this one would moisturize that part of my face without leaving any shine.Aug 26, 2012
Todd G: Definitely helps control oiliness and shine... Two pumps of this mixed with two pumps of the Facial Fuel Transformer gel is the perfect balance of oil/shine control and wrinkle reduction.Aug 26, 2012
minne x: i choose it for my boyfriend. i hope it will be good for him.Aug 24, 2012
Mark E: This product apeals to me because I sweat alot and always have a oily shine. I'm hoping to reduce this issue with this new product.Jun 11, 2012
David K: Brand new...sounds great ...can't wait to try it!Jun 11, 2012
Martin O: New product - have oily skin - wanted to try.Jun 10, 2012
Nancy B: want to see how well this works. Living in the South with lots of humidity makes it hard to apply and keep makeup onJun 9, 2012
Shayne H:Depends how dry your skin is... I have relatively dry skin, and this product is by far the best facial moisturizer I've ever used. It doesn't over moisturize and keeps my skin with just the right amount of moisture all day long. I would highly recommend this for anyone with dry or combination skin.Jun 16, 2012
Hemanth S:I would say yes, though it's best use is for oily skin. I am pretty thin up top and use this product to moisturize my oily forehead and scalp to reduce the "chrome dome" look of oily shine. I would suggest looking to other Facial Fuel products for dryer skin.Jun 14, 2012
John N:It's interesting how you can have an oily appearance, but still have dry skin. This product addresses both conditions, resolving them effectively!Jun 11, 2012
Louis S:I've been using the Facial Fuel Transformer and decided to try the No-shine Hydrator because of my oily skin. I really don't see a difference between the 2 as far as shine control. I prefer the Transformer because it's a lighter weight and it helps reduce the signs of aging. Jun 19, 2012
Richard O:I would recommend this product if you have an oily
complexion..this product isn't oily and doesn't add to my already oily complexion..it blends really well..a little goes a long way

Matthew B:I have been using the facial fuel products for years and lately found my skin to be oily after a few hours. I switched to this and love it. It has greatly improved the appearance of my skin. Jul 4, 2012
Jack C:I've used Facial Fuel Moisturizer for about 3 years now and I have to say it is the best moisturizer I've tried. People always comment on how healthy my skin looks, and at 64 that's quite a compliment. The best part about this product is that it is not greasy and i don't have to wash my face and reapply during the day.Apr 12, 2013
jorge n:I used it for a month and I didn't feel that it provided enough moisture for me. I have very dry skin. It worked great if my skin felt oily through out the day. Apr 12, 2013
A shopper asked:Is this really the miracle I've been waiting for to help battle my constant shine throughout the day due to very oily skin? I know there is nothing out there to remove the oil without turning your skin into an arid and cracked dessert surface, but as much as I love my current routine with the facial fuel cleanser and moisturizer, I would love to incorporate something else to fight the shine that appears soon after washing my face without having to use those face blotters 24/7.Jun 7, 2012
Nicholas P:I have recently purchased the Facial Fuel No-Shine Hydrator and have been using it for about a week. As someone whose skin becomes more oily with every added product I apply, I was skeptical to add something new to my routine. Normally, I cleanse my face and then apply the Ultra Facial Oil-Free Toner as my moisturizer. It's simple, quick, and for the most part works for me...but my skin still gets oily throughout the day. When I saw the Facial Fuel No-Shine Hydrator on the website, the name and description caught my attention and I wanted to give it a try. I think it's a great moisturizer if your someone who is looking for something very light in feel with no added sheen. The No-Shine Hydrator does have a mattifying effect without leaving your skin feeling dry and tight. I have found that the No-Shine Hydrator does keep the skin fairly matte for a couple hours after application, but it does not last all day. However, I have found that when I used the Rare Earth Pore Refining Tonic and the Facial Fuel No-Shine Hydrator together, my face stays matte all day. The Rare Earth Pore Refining Tonic ( which leaves your face feeling tight yet matte) and the Facial Fuel No-Shine Hydrator ( which lightly hydrates your skin while leaving a matte finish) work well together, balancing each other out so you have a matte finish without that tight dry feeling.Jun 24, 2012
Tim H:I recently purchased the Facial Fuel No-Shine Hydrator and I am very impressed with the product. It feels light on your face and does a great job at reducing shine. I have oily skin and have tried several alternatives but they tend to feel like you have a layer of pure zinc on your face....very drying. The Facial Fuel feels light on your face and doesn't give you that tight, cracked feeling. Granted when it's 90+ degrees outside you may have to reapply but to me that's understandable when there is excessive heat where you're sweating a lot. The Facial Fuel is by far the best thing I've ever used and I am very pleased and impressed with it. Jul 1, 2012
Jason P:You should give this a try! I've used many mattifying moisturizers over the years. All over-dried my skin, and provided very little moisture. This product actually does the opposite! My skin is significantly less oily & always feels hydrated. It's a winner for me - I hope for you too! Good luck :)Jun 26, 2012
A shopper asked:If I were to buy this, should I still buy the Facial Fuel UV Guard SPF 50+? Both seem like good products on their own, but as I am not too knowledgeable about these things, will it be advisable to use both products at once? Or would that harm the skin?Jan 30, 2013
Anna Y:I would probably recommend using both, first the Facial Fuel No-Shine Hydrator, then the Facial Fuel UV Guard SPF 50+ on top of that. Just because I don't believe the former has any SPF in it at all and unless your skin is really sensitive or incredibly oily, you would be getting double the moisture using both. Although, for most people who have oily skin, the lack of or using an incorrect moisturizer can cause oily skin - when your skin doesn't get enough moisture, it produces an excess amount of oil to make up for it, therefore, oily skin in fact needs more moisture. My husband had oily skin until he switched to the Facial Fuel No-Shine and his skin is soft and non-oily now. So I'm encouraging him to add the SPF Guard to his routine to get the sun protection. You get quite a long use for it since you don't need too much. I would even recommend this to women with oily skin! Also, Kiehl's products so far are very gentle to skin and for the most part, are fragrance-free, which is nice if you have sensitive skin. Hope that helps!Jan 31, 2013
Wei T asked:Just bought this product after hearing so many great things about it. Would anyone suggest using it in the Fall/Winter months? Seems like most people are using it for the summer months. Thanks!Nov 24, 2012
Anna Y:My husband uses this for everyday, even in the winter - and we live in Wisconsin. He actually tried using a sample of another brand's moisturizer a couple times and switched back to this No Shine Hydrator, because it keeps his skin moisturized, without feeling oily. So far, he still loves it. Hope that helps!Nov 25, 2012
Ruth S:I bought this for my son, a collegiate decathlete, age 21, still acne prone. His regimen is Facial Fuel Energizing Scrub with a Clarisonic Mia in the shower. Benzaclin topical and Facial Fuel No-Shine Hydrator for moisture. Then sunscreen during practice.Sep 8, 2012
Stacey S:This product works great for my acne-prone skin. I effectively moisturizes yet controls oil and shine on the face. I like this product a lot.Sep 8, 2012
A shopper asked:Just purchased this product. Works great for my super oily skin. Wanted to know if this product is Non-comedogenic? I do know that it's oil free. But does it clog pores? Please let me know, thanks a lot guys.Jun 28, 2012
Brad B:I was told it doesn't clog pores, and from what I can tell that's true. I haven't had issues and my skin is very sensitive to products that will clog pores. I also have seen a great response with my skin which tends to be oily.Jul 4, 2012
Irene Marilyn A:Unfortunately I am not in a position to assist with this query.
I purchased the product for my son who lives in NYC. He has not yet received this gift as apparently it is awaiting his collection at his local post office. As he never finishes work before 5pm, I really don't know when, if ever, he will be able to collect it.
I'm sorry I am unable to help Kiehl's on this occasion.
Jun 18, 2012
Tom R:No, the top 3 ingredients are water, glycerin, and denatured alcohol, but I'm really loving this product because it has the lightness of Facial Fuel (perhaps more so) but none of that slight sheen. My 2nd fave is now the Facial Fuel Age Combat, which I've been alternating or using at night.Jun 19, 2012
Mario M:Both products are moisturizers, so technically you would only need to use one, I would suggest the No-Shine Hydrator for day since it is lightweight and the Anti Wrinkle cream at night.Jun 13, 2012
