Andrea, Kiehl’s Insider

Hydrolyzed Soy Protein

Hydrolyzed Soy Protein is a naturally derived protein of vegetable origin that is soluble in water. It is produced by the enzymatic hydrolysis of soya flour. When used in skin care products, it offers visible benefits to the skin to provide a smoothing effect and minimize the appearance of roughness and wrinkles.

Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein (Phyto Peptides)

Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, also known as by the collective name Phyto Peptides, is an effective substitute for hydrolyzed animal protein derived by acid, enzyme, or other method of hydrolysis. It offers conditioning, moisturizing and film forming properties and is widely in skin care products to help skin retain its moisture and improve its overall appearance.

How to Apply:
-After shampooing with the Kiehl's Shampoo appropriate for your hair and scalp type, rinse hair thoroughly
-Apply Formula 133 Hair Conditioner by gently working it into the scalp and hair especially the ends and combing through
-Leave in for a few minutes and then rinse out
-"Formula 133" may be applied again after rinsing and allowed to remain on hair as a conditioner and grooming aid, if desired

Cool Kiehl’s Fact:
The formula gets its unusual name from the fact that customers who were invited to test the product during development were so eager to have more that Kiehl’s chemists never had the chance to name the formula properly. “Formula 133” was their code name for their winning test sample!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Conditioner This product is fantastic for hair that is both curly and fine. It gives such softness without weight and makes styling so much easier. I would love this even more if it had a light scent. Please start selling this in stores again. 11/29/14
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Conditioner!!!!!!!!!!!!! I truly love this conditioner. I am bi-racial and have fizzy hair (black and white) This conditioner works well with my hair type. I love it!!!! My hair comes out soft and shiny. I leave it on for a few minutes and it rinses out very silky. My hair is not dry when it is complete. I LOVE LOVE this conditioner. I use it all the time and highly recommend it!!!! 3/7/14
Rated 5 out of 5 by My Favorite Conditioner I have been using this conditioner since 2003 (my sophomore year of high school). I have had weak moments, when I will buy a different conditioner, and I ALWAYS regret it. I have fine, but thick, wavy hair, which tangles easily. This conditioner is light, de-tangles my hair perfectly, and leaves my hair so soft and shiny. I use Kiehl's Amino Acid shampoo, and I cannot imagine what I will do if either of these products ever disappears. 1/7/14
Rated 5 out of 5 by My favorite conditioner of all time! My hair is naturally very thick and leans of the straight/slight wave side. I've used hundreds of conditioners and most can't even condition my hair. Some of the thicker conditioners leave my hair flat and oily. Grooming Aid Formula 133 has been the best conditioner I've used so far. I don't need to use a huge amount and it leaves my hair soft and manageable. The smell is amazing and lasts a long time. 11/18/13
Rated 5 out of 5 by When I was in the store purchasing my tea tree oil shampoo I told the consultant about my oily hair issue, and my problems finding a great conditioner. She urged me to buy this product, and I have to admit #1 I didn't think it would work, and #2 I didn't think it smelled too goood. Boy was I wrong. This conditioner works wonders with my hair. It leaves it totally manageable, and the scent dissipates. 10/6/13
Rated 1 out of 5 by Awful...just awful I really like many Kiehl's products. From their skincare line to their haircare. I thought I'd switch out my Sunflower Color Preserving conditioner and try this for a change. I really, really wish I hadn't. It has to be one of the worst conditioners I've ever used...from Kiehl's or any other company. I wish I could return it because it's that dreadful. For my hair, at least. To be specific, I have quite fine, very straight, highlighted hair that is a bit past shoulder length. It needs conditioning, but I need to stay away from heavy products or my hair gets weighed down because of its fineness. Kiehl's Hair Conditioner & Grooming Aid Formula is supposedly good to either use after shampooing and then rinsing out OR as a leave in. I have tried using a little, I have tried using it more liberally. I have rinsed it out just enough to still feel conditioned, I have rinsed it out for well over a minute. I have applied it as a leave in. In all cases, it has left my hair completely and hopelessly tangled and worst of all, left it feeling heavy, coated and as flat and lifeless as possible. My hair has never been this flat and it feels just awful. It seems to have zero moisturizing capabilities as well, and left my hair gnarled and unmanageable, both wet and dry. For my hair type, I hate it. Too bad I wasted so much $ because it's going to wind up in the trash. 5/20/13
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic! I have long, thick, wavy blonde hair that gets tangled beyond belief. The first time I tried this, I couldn't believe how silky and manageable my hair was. After continued use my hair has become shinier, healthier, and incredibly easy to style. I also use it on my ends as a leave-in treatment and have noticed less split ends and breakage. This doesn't weigh my hair down, or make it dull or brassy. 2/13/13
Rated 4 out of 5 by Not my Favorite... This is not my favorite Kiehl's product, I hate to say. It is good, but just not great! It did leave my hair shiny, but I would rather recommend the Amino Acid Shampoo! I just wasn't blown away, and the scent wasn't great! I'm usually blown away by Kiehl's shampoo, but this wasn't my favorite! 9/13/12
