Rated 5 out of 5 by zena9477 better than the cucumber toner, for my sensitive skin
I bought both toners at the same time, this calendula toner turns out to be much better. My skin has always been hard to work with, some area dry, some area oily and also sensitive and easy to get allergy... but i have to say, so far, this product is the best among all the toners i have tried. moisturized quickly, no residue feeling and actually soften the skin a little bit. like the smell too!! a little pricey though, but worth it.

I am normal to oily skin, and always have some acne and large pore since I was fourteen years old. Only this toner, it can control oil and acne after using one week. But I am worry about it, will I use it for ever? If I stop using it, oil and acne will come back. Maybe when I will be 30-year-old or more, my skin changes to normal! Good luck to me!

I started using this toner about one week ago and can already see visible improvement with my skin. I'm also using the deep earth pore cleanser, which is also fabulous. This has been the only regimen I've found to clear up my pregnancy breakouts. Using the combo of the pore cleanser and this toner has really cleared up my skin!

While we are conditioned for our toners to 'sting' after washing, shaving, etc., it really isn't necessary. The majority of toners out there contain isopropyl alcohol (or slight variants) which DOES sterilize the skin BUT it also dries out the mantle of the epidermis. Not good, at all. Thankfully, there are toners that do NOT contain alcohols and this is one of them ... and one of the BEST in my opinion. It gently takes off what your cleanser may have left behind (after the rinse), prepping your skin for maximum moisturizer absorption / benefits... ALL w/o the drying effects of alcohol normally associated with toners. BIG FAN!!!
Rated 4 out of 5 by PleaseParabenFreeKiehls Works Pretty Well, Just WAY Overpriced
I am an ingredient junkie, and while this formulation doesn't have the "safest" ingredients, the ones used are far from being harmful. It's just that the Calendula Extract, Articum Lappa Extract and Allantoin ALL come AFTER very cheap, generic ingredients. Sure, the ones listed above are relatively "premium" but I mean come on. Even the preservative (Methylparaben) is listed before any of those ingredients. I wanted to give it 3 stars because of how overpriced it is, and how it should be priced like their Cucumber Toner, BUT it does perform very well for oily & sensitive skin -- which is very hard to find.
**As a note, here are all the ingredients that come before Calendula (for which the product was named): Water, Propylene Glycol (a little scary as the 2nd most concentrated ingredient), Pentylene Glycol, Methylparaben and Disodium EDTA.
Rated 4 out of 5 by RebeccaZ Great product, bad packaging
The product itself is good. I've recommended to many friends about it. HOWEVER, the packaging isn't great...Once I put the biggest sized bottle into my checked baggage and found its cap was damaged during the air travel. Leaking all over my suitcase. My roommate had the same problem.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Cindybeautymom Best toner
The sales lady asked me to try this toner as a means of reducing the oils on my skin and to even out my skin tone. At first I thought it looked weird but I was willing to give it a try since it was my birthday and I turned 39. Figured I needed less makeup so I should concentrate on my skin's condition instead. I have oily skin with large pores around my nose and old acne scars along with break outs. She insisted that this toner would not break me out or dry out my skin since it is alcohol free. WELL...I must say....this is the best toner I have ever used!! I thought the Proactiv toner I was using was great but this is hands down the best!! After washing I put this on and it doesn't sting or have a strong odor. The petals don't bother me at all. It comes out onto the cotton pad but doesn't get on my skin. It's very gentle and once it drys, the tone is even. I use less foundation now since I don't have to even my skin tone. I only need to cover my acne scarring. Their avocado eye cream is also the best!!
Rated 3 out of 5 by Nyc2LA Worked great in NYC, not so much in LA
I grew up in FL and lived in NYC for 9 years. I've always dealt with normal to combination skin (and at times oily skin when living in FL). I purchased the Calendula toner in NYC and for the most part it worked great. I'm a big fan of alcohol free anything as it strips the skin of the good oils so I was happy about that and my skin felt good when using the toner. The pieces of calendula flower that came out every so often (and a lot at the end) were kind of weird and to be honest I'm still trying to convince myself that it's a cool addition to the process, but really I just found it kind of gross. That's just me. But all in all, I gave it a B+, if you will.
Then I moved to LA. And all of the sudden it was like I literally couldn't keep my skin hydrated no matter how much coconut oil, lotions, etc that I used and how much water I drank (doesn't help they are in a drought). Anyways, I noticed that in the drier conditions my skin was already drying out and when I used this toner it made my skin feel even drier after using it. I switched to the cucumber toner and It's been great so far!
