I bought this to protect my face while I run. When putting it on, it is very liquidly ad you have to be careful not to apply too much. It takes a little while to rub in and even so, it leaves my skin looking a bit lighter. This works for me, since I have very light skin, but it might not for darker skin tones. It does work very well as a sunscreen as I have not been burnt while running under the scorching sun,and also does not run off my face, which I appreciate.

For being a physical sunblock, I understand that this product wont soak in as much as a chemical block; however, I was pleasantly surprised when it nearly soaked into my skin - Amazing!
Only thing I didn't like is the slight blueish tint it gave my skin. Looks strange. But great none the less.
Not sure I'd put this on my face however. Going to try the Super Fluid Mineral SPF for the face area.

I have to literally scrape my skin off to remove the dry white layer that sticks every time I use it. I have tattoos, so I am definitely a lot more conscious of this layer than other people may be. I love the texture, wateriness and non-greasy protection but I can only use it occasionally now because of this white layer. I like the product in every other way. If anyone has a recommendation for a different Kiehl's sunscreen that does not do this, please let me know!

I accidentally purchased this product. I was trying to buy Activated Sun Protection in the 100ml bottle without the mineral / titanium stuff. The labels look almost exactly alike. I tried it anyway because returning the product was not going to happen for me. Yes, it's oily when you put some into your palm. However, when I put it on my face, it's drier and less sticky than the product I was trying to buy. It does leave a white residue but it turns out ok for me. I am pasty-white, super pale, and burn easily. I ended up liking this product better! With that being said, my wife has brown skin and the white residue side effect is not acceptable.

I bought this sunscreen when I was in Nordstrom, mainly because it only contained titanium dioxide and I prefer that to zinc oxide for my sensitive skin and because it has a great price point compared to other department store sunscreens. I use it everyday twice a day to prevent aging, the application is a little hard, because it takes some work to get it to blend on my face evenly, but once it's blended it dries completely clear and doesn't leave a ghostly cast like other mineral sunscreens. I also really like how thin the formula is, it makes it so much easier to apply especially to the neck and back of the hands. definitely my new favorite sunscreen!

I recently got a sizable second degree burn on my arm and as the skin grows back I was told by my doctor to always use sunscreen on my new skin that is mineral based and white (instead of other colors which means they have dyes that would settle into the new skin). I found this product and am very thrilled. It goes on like a lotion and lasts all day. I don't have to reapply ever so often and my skin feels protected.

Those who complain about the white layer are missing the point - that's why this sunscreen works so well! You can see the minerals and know they're protecting your skin from getting burnt. Throw on some face powder if you're worried about the whiteness. I love, love, love this product. It goes on incredibly easily and I know my kids will be protected all day outdoors without reapplying. Please do not discontinue this product.

Very hard to rub in, always left a white film. It took off a layer of skin when you went in the water.
